This project involves a number of different BMPs that are used to treat runoff from an entire property. The property was transformed from a plain grassed lawn to a lively and inviting space. The landscaping and BMPs were very well integrated with intended human uses of the space. Some of the key features of this project included multiple rain gardens, underground aquablocks installed to store water for irrigation purposes, the planting of 300 mostly native plants, and a 33% reduction in driveway paving. Part of the reason we love this project is because the individual elements of the project design can be replicated affordably at other homeowner sites.
