D.C., National Leader for Green Roof Installation in 2011

Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC) has released the results of its 2011 Annual Industry Survey of Corporate Members which measures the growth of green roofs in North America. GRHC distributes this independent survey to their corporate members in order to assess the growth of the green roof industry on an annual basis. Some of the key findings from the 2011 survey are as follows:

  • Green roof industry grew by 115%!
  • 4,577,935 square feet of green roof reported
  • The District of Columbia came in 1st for most square footage installed during 2011
  • Extensive green roof design is utilized more than intensive green roof design
