Ellicott City Flood 2018

Ellicott City Flood 2018

As many of you have likely heard by now, Ellicott City, MD — home to CSN’s offices —  was hit by another historic flooding event on the afternoon of Sunday, May 27, 2018.

While CSN’s office is located on the 3rd floor of the old railroad hotel and was undamaged by the flood waters, the damage to the lower half of Main Street appears worse than in 2016. Clean-up efforts are just getting underway, and we will not have access to our office for several months while infrastructure is inspected and re-built. For now, we are working remotely from our respective homes and email is the best way to get in touch with us.

Unfortunately, we have some practice dealing with this type of event. Our post from the 2016 flood may help provide some context. You can also find a helpful write-up on the extraordinary circumstances that conspired to produce Sunday’s storm in this article from the Washington Post.

For those of you who would like to help we recommend that you make a donation to the Ellicott City Partnership: http://visitoldellicottcity.com/ec-partnership/donate/

Thanks to everyone who has expressed their concern and support.

Cheers,

CSN
