CSN and local partners conducted a FREE regional stormwater practitioner forum to meet the unique needs and challenges of Virginia Tidewater communities. The forum was intended to link NFWF grantees with local, state and federal stormwater stakeholders to craft effective strategies to achieve greater urban nutrient reduction and how to overcome regional challenges to BMP implementation. These include flat terrain, high water tables, shoreline management, groundwater and other issues.

The first half of the day focused on solving Coastal Plain BMP challenges either through design, planning, maintenance or retrofits and was geared more toward BMP designers and planners. The second half of the day focused on Chesapeake Bay specific issues and nutrient accounting techniques and was geared more toward MS4 permit managers and other programmatic types. A detailed agenda can be downloaded below.

Thanks to all of our partners for making this forum a success!
