Join us for a webcast on advanced discovery techniques for finding and fixing high nutrient discharges from the storm sewer system. We will hear from two experts in the field on how they use a targeted approach to finding and tracking these discharges back to their source. It should be loads of fun – haha, get it?!

Laurel Williamson from the Center for Watershed Protection will talk about the six categories of discovered illicit discharges that your locality can eliminate for Chesapeake Bay TMDL nutrient reduction credit. She will share insights about water quality parameters and testing equipment that can be used to detect illicit discharges and methods available for tracking down those mysterious sources. She will be joined by John Cox from the City of Durham, NC who will discuss how to focus field surveys to specific places in the urban landscape that have higher potential for illicit discharges. John will also talk about the tricks of the trade that he has developed over the years through his IDDE work in Durham.

The City of Durham’s webpage: on Pollution Prevention Resources for Businesses has loads of valuable resources!
