The Chesapeake Bay watershed’s roadside ditch network can be both a source of nutrients and sediments as well as a conduit for their transport to local streams and rivers. The first in a two-part series, this webcast will discuss design and maintenance guidance for two best management practices for roadside ditches: ditch elimination and ditch retrofits. We will focus on visual indicators and the small adjustments to current ditch management practices that can provide substantial water quality benefits.
