The Chesapeake Bay Stormwater Training Partnership conducted a 1-day RiverWise training workshop at the Forest Hill Presbyterian Church in Richmond, VA. The workshop was conducted in partnership with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay in order to train individuals from Soil and Water Conservation Districts across Virginia on the RiverWise program. Registration was opened to Soil and Water Conservation Districts that are currently involved with the Virginia Conservation Assistance Program (VCAP).
The primary objective of the workshop was to train SWCD staff on the RiverWise program in order to set up a partnership with the Districts to train new Districts wanting to get involved with VCAP. The workshop also demonstrated how to design, install and maintain stormwater BMPs and gave an introduction to the SMART tool for BMP verification.
